First Edition of Emmetex for Talents: A Triumph of Creativity at Première Vision.
Our attendance at Première Vision allowed us to showcase the Emmetex Exuberantia
We just got back from Paris and cannot wait to share the success of the first edition of
Emmetex for Talents with you. Our stand at Première Vision was a hub of interest, attracting lots of visitors wanting to discover the extraordinary work created by Mathilde
Hiron and Alec Bizby.
Our attendance at Première Vision allowed us to showcase the Emmetex Exuberantia
line, which transforms our textile surplus into creative and sustainable solutions. The
Emmetex for Talents project, made possible through a partnership with Première Vision
and collaboration with the Hyères Festival, involved two talented finalists who made the
best use of Exuberantia materials.
Mathilde Hiron charmed everyone with her unique bag, created using materials from the
Exuberantia line. Mathilde challenged her usual colour palette, choosing unexpected
colour combinations such as chocolate, red, orange and lilac, and adding black threads
and dabs of bright colour. The entirely handmade bag combines colourful fringes and
sustainable materials, with edges and handles hand-crocheted with vintage beads and
second-hand fur yarns. A real tactile masterpiece that amazed our visitors with its
originality and sustainability.
Alec Bizby explored new creative horizons with Exuberantia materials, creating a men’s
garment that teams fringes, tinsel and tulle for a surprising effect. Alec worked with the
idea of being “trapped”, fraying the edges of the fabrics to create longer fringes. He then
hand-wove tinsel onto a male torso, finishing off with a tulle T-shirt that collects and traps
the fringes and free threads, producing an “underwater” effect. For the shorts, he created
a unique material by stitching the edges of fabrics together, then cut and stitched the piece
and finally washed it to create a unique texture.
Our participation at the Paris event was a real laboratory of creativity and we were blown
away by our visitors’ interest and questions. Emmetex for Talents was an exciting trip (the
first of many!) that showed how craft and sustainability can go hand in hand, promoting a
circular and responsible approach to fashion. Young designers need an environment in
which their creativity can be encouraged through collaboration and networking, going
beyond platitudes and focusing on tangible actions. We hope that this project, with a dash
of textile experimentation, will serve as a good omen and a model for future initiatives. Our
goal is to create a dynamic, integrated ecosystem that supports and empowers emerging
talent, thus promoting real change in the sector.
We will continue to work so that new designers can breathe new life into our initiatives and
give us endless possibilities for the future. Emmetex for Talents does not stop here: we are
already ready for more upcoming challenges and collaborations.
Thank you to everyone who supported this first edition. The journey continues, and we
cannot wait to show you all what the future holds!
